AUGUST 2011:NINA JOSE

{[['']]}
It’s been three years. Let’s see if you were able to make good on some things you said back then: were you able to go back and finish your European Studies course?
I have plans to go back to study late this year. I studied French but I’m still not fluent—I can understand it but not speak it well. The reason I chose the course was because I had always wanted to travel to Europe—I’ve always wanted to travel the world and I think Europe is one of the most romantic and culture-rich places in the world.

Have you actually recently fulfilled the dream of going to Europe?
Not yet. Hopefully before I turn 25 in three years I could go. We’ll see. It will defi nitely be a grand tour!

Did the sexy yet sophisticated package we unveiled three years ago work well for you?
The projects that I got after FHM were really not that sexy. But sophisticated— yes. And even up to now—look at the theme of our shoot—it’s still sophisticated so I’d say nothing has
changed.

Is it safe to say you can do more?
Yes, I actually can. As long as I don’t show any private parts.

We’ll have that on the third. You did show us something more here, didn’t you?
There’s one back shot with nothing on. And I’m comfortable with that.

You were also a Tanduay Girl, a top-tier sexy calendar project. You must have felt like the biggest star then.
I was actually shocked [when I was offered the project] because I’ve never seen myself as a calendar girl—not in this world, grabe! Me, of all people? We went through a process with it—well, they went through a process with my dad making sure the photos were okay.

Did you do a tour with them?
We went to the parties. I wasn’t able to do a tour because I was by then already a regular in Banana Split and I also had a soap opera called M3: Malay Mo Madevelop, so the schedule wouldn’t permit it.

It would’ve been nice if you could have toured, say, military camps in Mindanao.
Oh, cool! That would be super cool! I’d be saying, “Hey everyone, drink Tanduay!” ha ha ha! Pero scary yun ha, if they drink tapos nagbabarilan. Scary

You also said in the first FHM interview that you had a bout with anorexia. Is it harder to stay fit now that you are a legitimate babe?
It is hard, but I think I’ve accepted myself already and I’m happy with who I am so I guess people see that. It eases the pressure. I used to crash diet and it wasn’t healthy, I wouldn’t advise it.
